The ITTS course continues to grow in strength, with regular courses across the country.
Last weekend three Module 1 – Teaching Bell Handling courses were run at Usk (L&MDACBR), Kineton (Warwickshire) and in Cornwall. Altogether there were 51 participants!
Also, Clare McArdle in Birmingham (who has had four of her learners using the Learning The Ropes scheme after she attended the second Module 2 course at Steeple Aston last year) passed on the good news that…
“I’ve just awarded four of my ringers their Level 1 certificates from the Learning the Ropes scheme. Smiles all round. It’s a great incentive and good to be able to reward their progress. Now they want to know what they have to do to get Level 2!”

ITTS has been to Scotland where both Modules of the course were held at St Andrews on the 17th and 18th February.
Twenty copies of Learning the Ropes – Personal Progress Logbooks were bought by course delegates to use with their new learners.
Learning the Ropes. Level 3 – Plain Hunt and Level 4 – Novice Change Ringer have been awarded to a Ringer from Shirenewton.
I believe that the ITTS was way overdue, good on you Pip for getting this underway. If we are to move forward with young ringers who are a lot brighter and quick to pick things up teaching them right first time and correctly is the way forward.
