In June 2011, the Ringing Foundation awarded a grant of £1,000 to the North Bucks Branch of the Oxford Diocesan Guild in support of a comprehensive recruitment and training project, ‘The Big Ring-Pull’
We are very pleased to hear that the project has been very successful, with a major event at Milton Keynes Shopping Centre and 43 new recruits attending an ITTS backed teaching course.
Jonathan Griggs, from the Big Ring Pull, reports that…
“The result of the course is that 39 new ringers have been sprinkled around the branch and are now attending practices at their local towers. We have also been able to start new regular practices at two towers which previously were not rung regularly.”
We are very pleased to hear about a successful project, and we look forward to working with them to be able to open up the resources and knowledge they have developed to the wider ringing community. You can read more about their progress on our Projects web pages.
If you are interested in a major campaign in your area, the Ringing Foundation may be able to help – please have a look at our Grant Applications.
